Eco Workshops
This site is all about sustainable design and new ides for your home, and as such it needed a warm, stylish look and crisp-looking functionality. The client had a strong sense of what they wanted, so converting this into a Drupal theme and extending their vision across views, panels, pages, fields and images was the main task.
When I started working with Sally in the summer of 2009, her site was a bespoke PHP site that had outgrown her needs. Over a year or so, I debugged and improved the existing code before we agreed it would be cheaper and easier in the long run to move to a flexible, community-supported content management system like Drupal. In late 2010 I re-built her site in Drupal with a beautiful new theme. The new site significantly improved her ability to edit and manage her events and images, plus allowed better functionality, search engine optimisation and user experience.
In terms of functionality, the site is a simple events and calendar affair with some nice bespoke animations and lots of beautiful images. The 'twist' was the client wanted to allow people to sign up to the workshop events and needed track the available spaces. I was able to get most of this functionality from the Signup module, with extra statuses for signees (like "Paid" or "Completed") by using the Signup Status module.
